Jessica Rodriguez, Medical Billing and Coding program, HDMC Temecula
Jessica Rodriguez is a single mother and a student at HDMC Temecula in the Medical Billing and Coding program. According to Jessica, she chose HDMC because HDMC offers both a supportive community and educational training targeted for healthcare careers. Jessica said, “I chose HDMC because out of all the schools near me they gave me more comfort and understanding what to expect in the medical field. From day one they all have been very informative and helpful with guiding me into my dream job, so thank you HDMC for this opportunity!”
Jessica was nominated for the Student Spotlight by her Temecula instructor Patricia Rico, who said, “I was initially impressed with her communication skills… She sent an email introducing herself, and asked questions regarding the syllabus (she had already previewed). This to me showed: Initiative. During the duration of classes and curriculum, Jessica was on top of her assignments turning in a few days early, some times even a week early. For a student to do this demonstrates: Self-drive.”
Instructor Patricia Rico is not only impressed with Jessica as a student, though. Jessica is a student in HDMC’s Medical Billing and Coding program. In the Medical Billing and Coding program, students learn to perform critical tasks in support of doctors and medical practices. HDMC students learn medical terminology, medical billing software, comprehensive medical coding and billing procedures, how to prepare and file insurance claims, and how to analyze benefits. HDMC’s Medical Billing and Coding program can be completed in as few as 35 weeks, and graduates receive a Certificate of Completion, Medical Billing and Coding diploma, and CPR and First Aid Certification from the American Red Cross.
After completing their program, HDMC graduates enter the job market with confidence, thanks to the support of HDMC’s Career Services department.
