Tammy Lee, Ultrasound Technician program, HDMC Temecula

Tammy Lee chose to pursue a career in healthcare because she wanted to have a career that could afford her the ability to take care of her family independently. Over the last 15 years in the healthcare field, Tammy found a love for the career and is passionate about helping people. Dedicated to her career, Tammy earned three licenses: CMA (Cert. Medical Assistant), NCPT (National Cert. Phlebotomy Technician), and PhT (Pharmacy Technician). Tammy felt motivated to continue to move up in the healthcare field, and came to HDMC Temecula to advance her existing healthcare career by earning her Ultrasound Technician diploma.

“I chose to attend HDMC for the Ultrasound Technician program,” Tammy said. Tammy appreciated her instructor, Cheryl Atkinson, BS, RDMS, who made the learning experience enjoyable. Tammy said, “I enjoy coming to HDMC because of Miss Cheryl A… (She) motivates me to push myself to succeed. For example, she takes time to demonstrate each lesson until we all understand it… I am blessed to have Miss Cheryl as she is an asset to HDMC. I know she will be a part of my future success here at HDMC and beyond.”

Ms. Atkinson was similarly impressed with her student, nominating her for the Featured Student Spotlight and saying, “Tammy Lee is an exceptional student in my UT am class. Tammy takes the time to make sure her lecture notes are concise and often shares her notes to assist other students. Tammy is a team leader in her scanning group by helping her classmates with scanning protocols. Every lab class Tammy stays after and assists with cleaning the lab. I admire Tammy for returning to school to obtain her license in Ultrasound, since she already is licensed as a Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, and a Phlebotomy Technician. I look forward to seeing Tammy complete her program and being successful in the field.” With all these accomplishments, what might be next for Tammy? “My ultimate goal is to open my own business performing 3-D and 4-D ultrasound for pregnant women” Tammy says.

Euroshia Barkzai, Ultrasound Technician, HDMC Temecula

Euroshia Barkzai was nominated for the Featured Student Spotlight because she has shown herself to be an exceptional student. Euroshia was the first student in her Diagnostic Medical Sonography class to successfully pass the first part of the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) exam, having passed the exam less than two weeks from the final day of Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI) class. Euroshia is a hard worker, who conducts herself with integrity and honesty, earning the respect of her peers and instructors alike.

Euroshia came to HDMC Temecula looking for an Ultrasound Technician program that would offer hands-on training and personalized instruction, and found the school “a perfect suit for me. It had what I was looking for and I couldn’t have been happier with my decision.” Euroshia was impressed with the dedication of faculty and the program itself, saying, “The school not only provides hands-on training but the staff and team members work diligently to make sure students succeed. From the day I signed up to now finishing up my last module, I have met such great people and grew tremendously as an individual. I’m humbled to say I recently passed my SPI.” What’s next for Euroshia? “I cannot wait to see what the future holds for me. Excited is truly an understatement!”
