Vocational Nursing Associate of Applied Science

High Desert Medical College Lancaster Associate degree in nursing program is seeking pre-accreditation candidacy from the National League of Nursing Commission for Nursing Education (NLN CNEA). Students, employers, members of the public, and other communities of interest are invited to submit comments regarding the programs under review directly to NLN CNEA staff. Interested parties are invited to submit third-party comments in writing directly to NLN CNEA, 2600 Virginia Avenue NW, 8th Floor, Washington, DC 20037 or submit via email to cneaaccreditation@nln.org and must be received by Monday, April 1, 2024.

VOCATIONAL NURSING ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE DEGREE PROGRAM

The VNAAS program is designed to enable students to develop enhanced critical thinking skills, greater scientific knowledge, and quality verbal/written communication skills, becoming more well rounded professionals and more qualified job candidates.

The VNAAS program has a hybrid-online format, combining theory coursework, hands-on training, and an externship in order to provide students with critical real-world experience. The AAS portion of the program is 48 weeks in length, for a total VN AAS program length of 104 weeks. The AAS degree program builds on the Vocational Nursing diploma by adding General Education and science courses which are offered online.

Graduates receive an Associate of Applied Science, Vocational Nursing degree.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics ranks Licensed with employment projected to grow 6% over the 2021-2031 decade.
