The Cardiac Sonography Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree Program at High Desert Medical College (HDMC) is a great way to get trained. CARDIAC SONOGRAPHY ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE DEGREE PROGRAM
The Cardiac Sonographer plays a key role in today’s modern diagnosis and treatment team of Cardiac disorders. Graduates of HDMC's AAS degree program will be prepared to pursue positions in imaging centers, physician’s offices, clinics, mobile units, or hospitals that do not require a certification to be employed.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects increasing growth in this field as sonography becomes an increasingly attractive alternative to radiological procedures. The BLS projects employment of medical sonographers, cardiovascular technologists and technicians will grow at a rate of 10% annually through 2031, faster than average for all occupations.

The Cardiac Sonography AAS program is offered in a hybrid format. General Education and introductory courses will primarily be online using Interactive Distance Learning (IDL). The core Cardiac Sonography principles and subjects will be taught in a hybrid format, theory will be conducted online while labs will be held on campus.
