What Will I Learn in HDMC’s Dental Assisting (DA) program?
Under the supervision of dedicated, experienced instructors, students in HDMC’s Dental Assisting program learn how to provide quality patient care, as well as how to perform important administrative and clinical tasks in support of dentists and dental offices. At HDMC, students learn how to:
- Welcome and assist patients with professionalism and care
- Support dentists and hygienists during examinations and procedures
- Capture and process x-rays safely and accurately
- Take precise dental impressions for treatment and planning
- Create molds and crowns to aid in restorative dentistry
How Long Is the Dental Assisting Program at HDMC?
HDMC’s DA program can be completed in as few as 34 weeks! The morning/afternoon program is 34 weeks when completed at a normal pace, while the evening program is 42 weeks.
Does HDMC’s Dental Assisting Program Offer Hands-On Instruction?
In HDMC’s Dental Assisting program students are prepared to excel in their future careers through a combination of engaging coursework and clinical labs. Students gain critical theoretical knowledge in the classroom, supplemented with hands-on training in on-campus labs under the supervision of experienced instructors.
The Dental Assisting program also includes an externship component, in which students complete an externship placement, empowering them to practice their skills in a real-world environment.
What Will I Receive When I Complete HDMC’s Dental Assisting Program?
Graduates of HDMC’s Dental Assisting program receive a Certificate of Completion, Dental Assisting diploma and an X-Ray certification, and are prepared to test for relevant industry certifications, such as through the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA).
