For Students Without a High School Diploma, HDMC’s ECPP Program Offers a Career Pathway 

Are you interested in career training, but don’t have a high school diploma? If you have a career goal, but haven’t been able to pursue career training because you don’t meet the high school prerequisite, High Desert Medical College (HDMC) can help. Our Eligible Career Pathway Program (ECPP) opens the door to every student who wishes to pursue career training. With HDMC, you can earn your high school diploma while working on your training program at HDMC at the same time! What is the ECPP?

High Desert Medical College is eligible to provide high school course work to students enrolled in Ability to Benefit (ATB) programs that offer Eligible Career Pathway Programs (ECPP). The Eligible Career Pathway Program (ECPP) is a program designed for students who do not have a high school diploma or GED, but who wish to enroll in a college or career training program for which it is a requirement. Students who enroll in the ECPP at HDMC will be enrolled to work towards their high school diploma through our partnership with Excel High School, while also enrolled in one of the following HDMC career training programs:

• Clinical Medical Assisting
• Dental Assisting
• Medical Billing and Coding
• Medical Administrative Assisting
• Veterinary Assistant

Students maintain enrollment in both, take courses for both, and work to achieve both their high school diploma and their HDMC Certificate of Completion at the same time!

What is required to enroll in the ECPP at HDMC?

The only requirement for enrolling in the ECPP is that you pass an independently-administered, Department of Education-approved Ability to Benefit Assessment. When you enroll with HDMC, our admissions advisors will help you through every step of this straightforward process. 

Will I really earn my high school diploma and my HDMC certificate?

Yes! You really can earn both your high school diploma and your HDMC certificate at the same time!  The ECPP is so exciting because now students can begin their career training without waiting to complete their GED program first.
