Southwest Healthcare Volunteer Opportunity

Southwest Healthcare offers volunteer opportunities for the following areas:

  • Emergency Department — Assist patients and visitors, help with check-in process, interact with family members in lobby area and offer comfort.
  • Guest Services — Welcome patients, visitors and families to the hospital. Answer phones, give directions, deliver flowers and mail to patients and drive our courtesy shuttle.
  • Chaplain — Provide non-denominational emotional and spiritual care to our patients, visitors and staff.
  • Pet Therapy — Personal pets and their handler provide therapeutic interventions to patients in the hospital. Your pet must be certified.
  • Patient Care — Work cooperatively with nurses and other staff, answer two separate phone lines, respond to patient calls offering comfort and assistance.

Temecula Valley Hospital Volunteer Foundation

The Temecula Valley Hospital Volunteer Foundation offers students the opportunity to volunteer in a real hospital setting—serving patients, families, and staff across multiple hospital units. Volunteers may work as greeters, escorts, or help with patient comfort needs (like providing blankets or information), and assist in waiting areas or community events.

You’ll need to commit to a minimum of one year, serving 4 hours per week, attend an orientation, and complete the volunteer application process. It’s a valuable chance to gain hands-on experience in health care, build your resume, and give back to your community.
