CAPPS Awards HDMC Student Novella Velarde with the Marsha Fuerst Memorial Scholarship

We are proud to announce recognition for High Desert Medical College (HDMC) Medical Assisting student, Novella Velarde as she is the recipient of the 2020 Marsha Fuerst Memorial Scholarship from The California Association of Private Postsecondary Schools (CAPPS).

The scholarship was created to honor the legacy of North-West College Founder Marsha Fuerst. The $3,500 award is designed for female students currently enrolled in a Medical Assistant program and open to students at any CAPPS member school. Novella is a Medical Assistant student at High Desert Medical College in Temecula.

“Novella Velarde is an outstanding student and person. Watching her in action raised my definition of strong work-ethic and dedication,” says Joe Bartolome, Temecula Campus Director. “She is a student any school administrator and instructor would be proud to claim as their own and I am especially proud to know and work with her as a colleague. Ms. Velarde is a hardworking and deserving student who, if given the support and opportunity, will make a valuable asset as a healthcare professional with a true passion to serve her community.”
