Whether you have completed our Vocational Nursing Certificate program, are on your way to completing it, or want to start the Vocational Nursing AAS program from the beginning, we can help. Build on your Vocational Nursing diploma by adding General Education and science courses – 100% online. 

Vocational Nursing Associate of Applied Science Degree Program

The VNAAS program is designed to enable students to develop enhanced critical thinking skills, greater scientific knowledge, and quality verbal/written communication skills, becoming more well rounded professionals and more qualified job candidates.

The VNAAS program has a hybrid-online format, combining theory coursework, hands-on training, and an externship in order to provide students with critical real-world experience. The AAS portion of the program is 48 weeks in length, for a total VN AAS program length of 93 weeks. The AAS degree program builds on the Vocational Nursing diploma by adding General Education and science courses which are offered online.

Graduates receive an Associate of Applied Science, Vocational Nursing degree.

FAQs about High Desert Medical College’s Vocational Nursing AAS Degree Program

A vocational nurse provides basic nursing care, monitors patients, administers medications, assists with daily activities, and supports registered nurses and doctors in hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities.

HDMC’s Vocational Nursing AAS degree program can be completed in as few as 93 weeks (full-time program) or 115 weeks (part-time program). 

HDMC’s Vocational Nursing AAS degree program is offered in a hybrid-online format. Students learn classroom theory online, while completing hands-on training in on-campus labs. All students also gain valuable experience through an externship.

Many of High Desert Medical College’s Vocational Nursing graduates go to work in clinics, doctors’ offices, medical groups, surgery centers, and specialty clinics such as pediatrics, oncology, and neurology. Our Career Services department provides every student with a wide range of career support services and comprehensive job placement assistance.

In High Desert Medical College’s Vocational Nursing program, you’ll gain real-world skills including how to administer medications, document patients’ signs and symptoms, and perform therapeutic and rehabilitative measures. Our hands-on training prepares you for the tasks employers are hiring for, and the AAS degree courses prepare you to be a more well-rounded job candidate, with courses in Psychology, Sociology, Nutrition, Microbiology, Human Anatomy, and Human Physiology. Our Career Services department also provides every student with a wide range of support services and job placement assistance.

Graduates will receive an Associate of Applied Science, Vocational Nursing degree.
