The Cardiac Sonography Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree Program at High Desert Medical College (HDMC) is a great way to get trained. HDMC will prepare you to enter your cardiac sonography career with a program involving classroom theory, lab procedures, externship and online learning for general education requirements.

The SonoSim Ultrasound Training Solution offers state-of-the-art educational modules that complement students’ training by providing remote hands-on ultrasound training, real-patient scanning cases and pathologies, didactic instruction, and assessment.

CARDIAC SONOGRAPHY ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE DEGREE PROGRAM



The Cardiac Sonographer plays a key role in today’s modern diagnosis and treatment team of Cardiac disorders. Graduates of HDMC's AAS degree program will be prepared to pursue positions in imaging centers, physician’s offices, clinics, mobile units, or hospitals that do not require a certification to be employed.

Cardiac Sonographer AAS degree courses include:

CARDIAC SONOGRAPHY AAS PROGRAM OVERVIEW

  • Total CS AAS Program Length: 115 weeks (morning/afternoon classes) and 115 weeks (evening classes)
  • Semester Credit Hours: 107
  • Total Clock Hours: 2,400
  • Classroom Hours: 1,230
  • Online Hours: 270
  • Clinical Externship Hours: 900
  • Graduates receive an Cardiac Sonography Associate of Applied Science degree
  • The Cardiac Sonography AAS program is offered in a hybrid format. General Education and introductory courses will primarily be online using Interactive Distance Learning (IDL). The core Cardiac Sonography principles and subjects will be taught in a hybrid format, theory will be conducted online while labs will be held on campus.
